Alexanderstraße boasts a central downtown location in the colourful district of St. Georg. It is situated on the lively shopping street Steindamm, close to Hamburg’s main train station. Numerous hotels, the shopping miles Mönckebergstraße and Spitalerstraße as well as a multitude of cultural institutions can be found within walking distance. Hamburg’s second largest university employs some 1,800 people in teaching and administrative functions. The building was rehabilitated in 2010 and features a timeless façade, which allows it to blend in perfectly with its urban landscape.

It is located close to Lange Reihe, a nightlife and shopping boulevard, with a large variety of culinary offerings and the banks of the Alster nearby. The district has hence become a popular office location and a welcome alternative to Hamburg’s city centre. Last but not least, the opening of well-known hotel chains is likely to upgrade this area even further.
